For a free to play game, the artwork, worlds and overall theme is gorgeous. It’s like playing a Final Fantasy game for free! Of course, there are microtransactions in this game – but you can safely ignore them if you’re patient and still have hours of fun.
Free to play on PS4, PC and Xbox One – Dauntless is a co-op monster hunting game similar to the Monster Hunter series. You take down monsters, take their gear to take down bigger monsters and try to navigate through this world. Each weapon upgrade changes the gameplay, and it’s cross playable on different platforms! You can play with your friends, and avoid all microtransactions and just play for fun.
If you are a fan of games such as Super Smash Bros – then this is the free-to-play game for you. Available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch – Brawlhalla is a platform fighting game with a cutesy charm. It involves friendly fights for casual players or more intense ones for the competitive players. You’ll receive six characters for free and are given the option to buy more via microtransactions or currency earned by playing.
Bethesda haven’t always been the kindest to their fans – but Fallout Shelter is a delightful free game. Available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and most mobile devices. You can control your own vault and be in charge of the vault dwellers. Whether that’s sending them to the waste or making them defend the vault, it’s up to you. It’s a fun little game where you finally have the power you’ve always wanted.
You’d have to be completely shut off to the world if you haven’t heard of this one. Fortnite is available on almost every device going! It’s a free-to-play game where you engage in battle royales and fight. It’s basically a virtual hangout where you can just chill with your friends. Of course, they have new skins and paid expansions – but the core of the game is still free and tones of fun.
