Resident Evil: Dead Aim Review

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil and the release of Resident Evil VIII next month – we’re celebrating the series this month.

Not intended to be released in the West, Resident Evil: Deam Aim is a gun shooter video game developed by Cavia and published by Capcom. It’s the fourth in the Gun Survivor series and is the first in the series to have first-person shooting and third-person movement.

PLOT

Following a knock-off Leon Scott Kennedy and Ada Wong in the form of Bruce McGivern and Fong Ling, Resident Evil: Dead Aim follows these characters as they have a will-they-won’t-they relationship. Did we mention their are also monsters and a ship they are trapped on. Essentially, that’s the story.

GAMEPLAY

Resident Evil: Deam Aim uses first person in combat with a dot in the center to help the player aim. It’s one of the few games in the series that allow you to move whilst aiming. Other than that, there’s little else to the game. Barely any puzzles and any engaging combat.

VERDICT

It’s clearly not the best Resident Evil game and the light-gun aspect is not innovative either. It’s a unique hybrid of the two and it can be fun at times.

The dialogue is bland and cheesy with the characters having no chemistry but it’s a guilty pleasure really. It was never going to win any awards, but if you see it – check it out.
